end in sight

phew, almost there. I've managed to avoid helping Emma in the garden all day and now I've just got two chapters left to write. I know this isn't the end by any means, once I get the agent notes back I'll have another hill to climb, but it does feel good to be so close to finishing this book. I've lived with it for so long Passengers feels like part of the mental furniture, but now that furniture is about to get re-arranged. I'll keep you posted once the last words are laid down. And I have a final scene already...

First post

is always the hardest. Well, let's see what happens. I'm currently writing the final chapters of a crime novel that started life back in 2003 as a uni project. Couldn't get the characters out of my head and the story grew until it became too big to ignore.
I guess this blog is an attempt to encourage other writers in a similar situation as myself - and my first ever attempt to write a diary. Something I've always regretted not doing as a kid. Anyway, to kick things off I have an agent interested in the book. I've set a deadline of end May to finish the final chapters and start revising, after that I'm putting it in the hands of a professional. Erk!

I'll keep you posted....
